For a burden I'd carried for so long,
it's a relief.
I feel I've broken free of
iron chains
that clipped and bound my wings.
I'm so free and light!
I am fresh at dawn.
Awake before dawn and
ready to take on the world
by its horns.
Breathing wave after wave of
lungs full of pure air,
I'm feeling as bright as the sun-
Even brighter!
To speak the truth,
I had no idea it was so
liberating.
I am proud of who I am an what I did.
No need to hide,
only need to shine.
To be the person I am,
to live a truth
quite divine.
Starry eyed,
sparkling.
Feeling grand like the Ganges!

"taking the world by the horns!", Baapre baap!!! Great to see the female matador! Write Namrata Sn write! Write sooo much that ur house is full with ur notebooks! Quoting our very own jerremy Clarkson, "it is impossible to over emphasise the importance of what has been achieved here tonight!" . The fact which make ur work nice is ur constant experimentation! U never hold an idea back just because it lacks the glamour, rather u present it as raw as u can. U could have used the stupid euphemism which weaker poets use, but rather u used ordinary words and represented iconic views!
and yes, on a personal note, the lines, " I feel i have broken free of iron chains,
That clipped and bound my wings" seem to be coming from my bikes engine when she saw me! My Honda , my lovely little beast!
^_^ ARIGATOU!! ^_^ I will!! That would be a dream.. notebooks and notebooks of writing!^_^
hehe I have to say I like this way of expressing, since raw emotions are rather strong and have the most appeal because we can identify with it somewhere or the other.
Besides, according to my understanding, using simple language to create more meaning is much more difficult and on a higher pedestal than is using unnecessarily complicated words to express the same thing. The appeal in a poem must be its ease of reading and provision of fodder for thought!
...Iconic views?! Krunal san...don't put me up on pedestals :P I'm just expressing views that are normal to us :D
OOh and glad your bike-chyan thinks that! ^_^ Suggoi! ^_^
